The Coorong is a 140km long lagoon system supported by fresh water flows from the River Murray and tidal movement.
Internationally known for native and migratory birdlife a place of spectacular white sand dunes, wildlife, unique flora and aboriginal history.
A place of untouched wilderness, peace and tranquillity.

The Murray River discovered by Captain Charles Sturt in 1830, Australia’s great river flows past Goolwa to end its 2,500km journey in the Southern Ocean.

The Murray Mouth where the Murray River enters the sea and separates the sand dunes of the Sir Richard and Younghusband Peninsulas about 8kms from Goolwa.
